Another mixed bag from TNA last night. Had it's good points and bad points.
Good Point: The opening four-way involving Senshi, Shelley, Lethal and Shark Boy was a good TV match. particularly liked Shenshi's top rope double foot stomp on Lethal.
Bad Point: Nash's run-in, flattening Lethal. I used to think that TNA could do no wrong, but it looks like the Big Sexy charm has gotten to them. They're crazy to think this is a good idea. I'm interested to see if this angle will give Shelley the rub though. I'm a huge Shelley mark. The boy's going places.
Good Point: A.J. Styles & Christopher Daniels in a TV match. It's always great to see them on TV.
Bad Point: They wrestled the Diamonds in the Rough. Why are the DitR even employed by TNA? TNA always gripe about not having enough TV time to showcase all their wrestlers. GET RID OF SOME OF THE EXCESS FAT THEN!
Good Point: The James Gang's parody of Team 3D. It wasn't up there with DX's parody of The Nation, but it had it's moments.
Bad Point: Remembering it wasn't 1998 anymore.
Good Point: The Slammiversary commercial with Jeff Jarrett knocking out some golfer.
Bad Point: Being embarrassed after realizing that it made TNA look like WWE wannabes. Get your own identity for crying out loud!
Good Point: The Truth vs. Monty Brown as the main event gave the show a feeling of significance.
Bad Point: Monty Brown was made to look impotent again. I know he's not exactly at the level he needs to be but he does have a larger than life persona. The Truth was jobbing to A1 on XPLOSION not that long ago...
Good Point: Having said all that, it was worth staying up 'til 11pm for.
Bad Point: I'm starting to admit to myself that TNA isn't the savior of professional wrestling. The weaknesses are becoming apparent.
