During yesterday's SmackDown tapings it was revealed that Rey Mysterio would defend the World heavyweight title against Sabu at One Night Stand. It was also teased that Tazz and Jerry Lawler would have some kind of face-to-face confrontation on the show as well.
I'm really looking forward to Mysterio vs. Sabu. To the best of my knowledge these two have never faced each other before. It's a shame It's happening in 2006 and not 1996. There's just some really interesting dynamics in there. It's doubtful Sabu is getting the title so it'll be interesting to see what kind of finish they have in mind. I'm assuming that either Sabu or RVD will win one of the WWE's titles, so I'm assuming it's going to be RVD getting the WWE title.
Tazz/Lawler sounds interesting. It's not going to be anything too earth shattering but it should make for a good segment.
So now we've got RVD vs. Cena, Sabu vs. Mysterio, Dreamer/Funk vs. Foley/Edge and a Tazz/Lawler face off. It's not exactly a dream card but I'll definitely be getting this on PPV. I just wish it didn't have an ECW vs. WWE theme. I'll probably be getting ECW's December 3rd PPV too. Can't afford to buy many WWE PPVs these days. $39.95 is just too much...
The evolution of the new ECW continued tonight on RAW when it was announced that Kurt Angle was moving from SmackDown! to ECW. Paul Heyman was given two draft picks from Mr. McMahon from the WWE roster (one from RAW and one from SmackDown!). He chose RVD from RAW and Kurt Angle from SD!. An interesting choice. RVD was a given but the Angle move really surprised me. I know that this is a WWE endorsed ECW and moving from a WWE brand to ECW is more of a lateral move, but I was shocked. Angle has always been outspoken about his lack of respect for ECW. I'm going to have a hard time believing that Angle is overjoyed to be in ECW. It'll be an interesting journey. The real question is what does WWE have in store for SD!? An anemic SmackDown! roster just became that much more anemic. Maybe there are plans to merge RAW and SD! back together. They could go back to running two prime time shows per week using the same bunch of characters. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
What can I say about Kane facing off with Kane tonight? Absurd yet peversely entertaining. I wonder if Brian Lee is under the mask? Or maybe it's Brian Lee's younger brother who was scarred for life when his older brother started a fire in the Lee family home during their childhood...
Had a moment of enlightenment during this week's RAW. They had a tag match where Beth Phoenix and Torrie Wilson, accompanied by Trish Stratus, faced off against Victoria and Candice Michelle who were accompanied by Mickie James. It suddenly struck me that all the babyfaces were blonde and all the heels were dark haired. Is there some subliminal message in there about certain women of certain hair colours?

(L-R: SWA commissioner, Damian LeVaye, Wade Garrett, Barry Wolf, Richtor Reinhart, Rainbow Warrior, Night Rider)
Attended two shows put on by my favourite U.S. indy over the weekend, SWA Warzone. Hattiesburg, MS had it's annual May Fest over the weekend and SWA contributed to the festivities by putting on two shows. The first was Saturday with the "May-Fest Challenge". Sunday saw a Fan Appreciation show with all tickets priced at $5.
SWA has a great bunch of guys. They've got Wade Garrett who comes across as a throwback to "Dr. Death" Steve Williams. Area veteran Riki Idol who bridges the gap between the old school and the new school. Great up-and-comers like Richtor Reinhart, Lil Shooter, Damian LeVaye and Steve Punk who look like they all have great careers ahead of them. Great promo men like Night Rider, Barry Wolf, Ron Horn, Tony Vegas and many others who can DEFINITELY get it done in the ring. And a true oddity in the Rainbow Warrior who never fails to get a reaction from the crowd.
The lead storyline going on at the moment in SWA is the SWA babyfaces (Garrett, Wolf, Reinhart (SWA CW champ), Night Rider, Rainbow Warrior etc.) feuding with Ron Horn's Clique (which includes Jessie Reynolds (SWA champ), Riki Idol, Tony Vegas etc.) When you pay your $8 for admission you definitely get your money's worth! They have their next show on June 17 at the National Guard Armory in Poplarville, MS.
In results from this weekend:
"May-Fest Challenge" (5/27/06)
CW title: Rictor Reinhart b. Steve Punk, 2 Quik and "Big" Steve Cheetum to win the title, Rainbow Warrior b. Aaron Bradley, SWA title: Jesse Reynolds b. Night Rider to retain title, Ron Horn & Minotaur b. Monty Warbucks & Lil Shooter, Barry Wolf & Wade Garrett & Damian LeVaye NC Riki Idol & Tony Vegas & Justin Stone.
Fan Appreciation Day (5/28/06)
Non-title: Richtor Reinhart (CW champ) b. Rainbow Warrior, Russian Bear b. Night Rider, No Rules: Ron Horn b. Lil Shooter, Barry Wolf b. Riki Idol, non-title: Wade Garrett b. Jessie Reynolds (SWA champ), Garrett's Army NC The Clique.
The main event on the Fan Appreciation show was the wildest brawl I have ever seen in person at a wrestling event. Bodies were flying everywhere. Ron Horn got thrown out of a window by Garrett. Garrett then threw him back into the building through it. Reinhart then did an elbow drop from the window ledge onto Horn! Awesome stuff. Roll on June 17.

On WWE.com today, Vince McMahon was interviewed about his future global plans for ECW. He talked about it not being a north eastern indy anymore. He confirmed that the product would maintain it's gritty persona both in production and content which was all well and good.
But this is what got me (and this is quoted from the article): "So with the launch of the re-established brand right around the corner, will former ECW head Paul Heyman have a role? “Absolutely,” exclaimed McMahon. “But at the end of the day, Mr. McMahon is in charge.” "
Things that make you go Hmmmmmmm. Remember on the Rise + Fall of ECW DVD Vince states that he told Heyman once he got on TNN he'd have to change his product to suit a broader audience? I think we all need to bare this in mind when we're watching the new ECW...

Another mixed bag from TNA last night. Had it's good points and bad points.
Good Point: The opening four-way involving Senshi, Shelley, Lethal and Shark Boy was a good TV match. particularly liked Shenshi's top rope double foot stomp on Lethal.
Bad Point: Nash's run-in, flattening Lethal. I used to think that TNA could do no wrong, but it looks like the Big Sexy charm has gotten to them. They're crazy to think this is a good idea. I'm interested to see if this angle will give Shelley the rub though. I'm a huge Shelley mark. The boy's going places.
Good Point: A.J. Styles & Christopher Daniels in a TV match. It's always great to see them on TV.
Bad Point: They wrestled the Diamonds in the Rough. Why are the DitR even employed by TNA? TNA always gripe about not having enough TV time to showcase all their wrestlers. GET RID OF SOME OF THE EXCESS FAT THEN!
Good Point: The James Gang's parody of Team 3D. It wasn't up there with DX's parody of The Nation, but it had it's moments.
Bad Point: Remembering it wasn't 1998 anymore.
Good Point: The Slammiversary commercial with Jeff Jarrett knocking out some golfer.
Bad Point: Being embarrassed after realizing that it made TNA look like WWE wannabes. Get your own identity for crying out loud!
Good Point: The Truth vs. Monty Brown as the main event gave the show a feeling of significance.
Bad Point: Monty Brown was made to look impotent again. I know he's not exactly at the level he needs to be but he does have a larger than life persona. The Truth was jobbing to A1 on XPLOSION not that long ago...
Good Point: Having said all that, it was worth staying up 'til 11pm for.
Bad Point: I'm starting to admit to myself that TNA isn't the savior of professional wrestling. The weaknesses are becoming apparent.

FINALLY WWE/SciFi has made the new ECW TV show official with a press release sent out today. Satrting June 13th, ECW will air on Tuesday nights at 10/9c and will be airing live when the SmackDown! tapings are on the east coast and on a tape delay when they're from the west coast.
The press release was originally scheduled to come out on Tuesday. When the trail went cold over the last two days I started to become a little concerned. But I guess that'll teach me to stop being a negative nelly!!!
I read in the Observer this week that WWE is going to make a big effort to make sure the ECW tapings look different from the SmackDown! tapings. I'm assuming they'll hang a big curtain in front of the SD! entrance and forklift the ECW smashed-out brick entrance in front of it. They're also going to light the arena in a different way. We'll have to see how it pans out.
Now here is a little gripe of mine. ECW is scheduled to go out live when the tapings are on the east coast. There's going to be a big problem if the show needs sound sweetening. If the WWE fans get bored or start to file out, it's going to look like hell on TV. The new brand could be saddled with a dead crowd and made to look something other than hot.
Also, wrestlers like Sandman, Axl Rotten, Sabu etc are going to be on live TV. Nothing personal against any of those three but they're under pressure to deliver the goods live. Blown spots at a live TV taping are out there for the world to see. There'll be no cleaning them up in the cutting room.
Anyway, I guess it's all a case of lets wait and see. ONS and June 13th can't arrive quick enough for me!!!

With Judgement Day finally out of the way, it was time for ECW to shine on Monday Night Raw. It's now full speed ahead with the hype for One Night Stand.
The show opened with the angle to set up the Dreamer/Funk vs. Foley/Edge match. Foley presented Edge with the Hardcore title. Edge said he couldn't except it and said Foley deserved it more. They eventually decided to declare themselves the co-holders of the championship which brought out Paul Heyman. Heyman said Foley had prostituted his hardcore legacy during recent times then challenged Foley and Edge to face two ECW wrestlers of his choosing in a tag match at ONS. Foley was hesitant but Edge jumped in and accepted the challenge. Heyman then brought out Dreamer and Funk and they brawled around ringside with Foley and Edge. There were some big ECW chants throughout this angle but the lack of the pop for the ECW run-in could not be ignored. I've said from the beginning that the audience needed to be conditioned to react to ECW, but in the third week of storyline development the reaction for Dreamer and Funk was shockingly low.
The second angle set-up RVD challenging Cena for the WWE title at ONS. After being DQed for Van Daminating Shelton Benjamin with the IC belt during a championship match, Rob acted all P.O. Later that night after Cena had disposed of Chris Masters in a match RVD came out and told Cena he was cashing in his Money in the Bank for ONS. When they had the big stare down it immediately struck me how meaningless a Cena vs. RVD main event would look to your common or garden WWE fan. It means something to ECW fans but you could almost hear crickets chirping in the background. WWE's booking team has three weeks to make RVD look like a worthy contender. It's going to be quite a challenge.
They also aired the first commercial for ONS. Nothing too spectacular, just your usual montage of highspots. One of the highspots was a diving head butt performed by Chris Benoit in a WWE ring. It stuck out like a sore thumb among the ECW clips.
The big WWE/ECW/SciFi announcement is expected today so you can bet I'm going to keep hitting that refresh button on my browser. On wrestlingobserver.com they announced that the first two ECW house shows will be June 24th in the old ECW Arena and June 25th in Elizabeth, PA at the Court Time Sports Center. Hopefully they'll arrange to have the old school Fan Cam tapings of the events.

I've just got through watching this week's episode of iMPACT! and I have to say they're beginning to test my loyalty. As you've probably guessed by now I'm referring to the slow destruction of the X-Division.
After a tie in the World X Cup, this week was the decider between Team U.S.A. and Team Canada. Team captains Chris Sabin and Petey Williams squared off with the winner taking the trophy for their team/country. I was really looking forward to the match. They'd had some great matches in the past. This also could have been a great one also but for some reason TNA's booking committee saw fit to ruin any enjoyment the viewers could derive from it.
Distraction #1: For some reason, which I certainly cannot fathom, the director cut from the action inside the ring to the Spanish announce table for a long period of time. They were starting some kind of angle with LAX and the Spanish announce table. Why couldn't this have waited until after the match? Was it that important?
Distraction #2: Shortly after cutting back to the ring it was time for the commercial break. I know commercial breaks are a necessary evil, but I was still P.O.'d from the LAX nonsense.
Distraction #3: While Sabin and Williams were busting their backsides in the ring, all Tenay and West were talking about was the "King of the Mountain" qualifying matches. I understand wrestling is built on hype but this had me reaching for the mute button. West was actually hyping KOTM while the finishing sequence was going down and it seemed like he only realized it because the bell rang. There is a time and place for hype but couldn't it have waited until after the match?
Distraction #4: I'll give you three guesses...Kevin Nash. This whole "I'm gonna destroy the X-Division" crap is stupid anyway, but why was he destroying Sabin after he'd just won the X Cup? Couldn't he have gotten the same effect by destroying Shark Boy?
TNA, you scored a big thumbs down from me this week. There's no excuse for crap like this. You're going to have to shape up before this thing starts snowballing...

Well it looks like the new ECW TV show is going to end up on the Sci-Fi Channel over here in the States. ECW on Sci-Fi doesn't have the same ring to it as ECW on TNN, but I'm ecstatic that it's going to be on national TV!
I'm originally from England and was nowt too pleased when I heard that ECW would be airing on TV in the U.K. I'm not begrudging people in the U.K., I was just green with envy! But now it seems we are going to get it over here so everything is fine and dandy. Sci-Fi hasn't released an official statement yet but it was reported on wrestlingobserver.com that it was just due to the McMahons wanting to give them the green light on it. I guess the mystery of Sci-Fi having a two hour wrestling special on Tuesday, May 30th is now cleared up.
Being a smart mark fan it is my duty to come up with something negative to say about this relaunch. My main gripe is that the current taping schedule will be that it'll be taped before WWE's SmackDown!. Now I'm not saying this won't change, but as a staunch ECW fan I can see the obvious pit falls of this. I really want to see it being taped in the ECW Arena, the Bert Flickenger Center in Buffalo, the War Memorial in Ft. Lauderdale... It's fine for it to have WWE TV production values (even the most hardcore ECW fan wanted those anyway) but lets just give it a little bit of authenticity folks.
Right now it seems ECW will have one PPV a year. That's great, but I hope WWE can find it somewhere in their heart to afford them a few more. How about canning Unforgiven and resurrecting Anarchy Rulz? Get rid of that awful Cyber Sunday and give us the November 2 Remember. And what about Living Dangerously in March?
It's an exciting time to be an old school fan right now!

So WWE is putting Triple H and Shawn Michaels back together as DX. I think this is great news. But with a little deeper thought on the matter I came to the conclusion that a babyface DX really has no place on the roster right now.
The reformation process is now in full swing. Last night's RAW had the cliffhanger of "Did Triple H miss HBK with the sledgehammer on purpose or by mistake." I thought it was great stuff. Vince overplayed the fact that Shane got hit a bit too much but you can expect that from Vinny Mac from time to time. This new INTERESTING cliffhanger structure to RAW is like a breathe of fresh air to a disillusioned WWE fan.
It was reported in the Observer this week that June's Vengeance PPV has the subtitle "Are You Ready?" so it's pretty much a lock that they'll be back together by then. Dave Meltzer predicted that they'll first be feuding with the Spirit Squad. A quick tag title reign for DX could be interesting short term. I'll also throw in a prediction of my own that DX will be facing Vince and Shane after that (possibly at SummerSlam?). But the question is: where do they go from there? HBK is wanting to become a part-timer in the very near future so this will leave H carrying most of the in-ring. The obvious direction is H chasing the championship belt, but H vs. Cena is quickly becoming old. The WWE title picture needs a good shake up. Maybe Edge will finally get his run with the belt. H vs. Edge with Cena out of the picture sounds like a good direction.
But my question today is past The Spirit Squad, the McMahons, Cena and Edge, who do the new DX have to feud with. A wrestler/faction is only as good as the wrestler/faction they are feuding with. Also, a couple of newcomers have to be added to this version of DX to give it longevity. WWE have around six months to come up with some good scenarios for DX past the immediate ones. If they can successfully do this it's going to be a great roller coaster ride for all of us!

Another big Monday night for wrestling fans with a big RAW and the iMPACT! tapings in the same night.
Terry Funk made his first RAW appearance since 1998 and I was marking out like the spazzy 17-year old! When I used to live in England I would keep up with ECW TV shows through tape traders. I got into watching the TV tapes regularly (as in every time a new one became available I had to have it) around Oct./Nov. 1995. This was around the time Tommy Dreamer brought in Funk to combat a heel Cactus Jack and Raven. This Funk/Dreamer vs. Foley/Edge angle could be viewed as a blatant rehash but for me it's a trip down memory lane! As expected Foley's interview was strong tonight and Funk got a great reaction seeing as how they were in Texas. Some of the content of the angle seemed a little lost on the live crowd but I think it's a neccessary sacrifice in order to educate the WWE fans as to where things are headed when the new ECW comes into effect. Judgement Day is this Sunday and once that is out of the way it's full speed ahead for One Night Stand hype.
I want to make a confession. I...am...a...Spirit Squad...mark... Yes, I just said that. I am a Spirit Squad mark. Those guys are freaking hilarious. And while I am having a soul cleansing confession session, I am on the edge of my seat for this DX reunion! I can't remember the last time I was this into the WWE product.
Down in Orlando, TNA taped two weeks worth of TV. Among other things it was announced that the third ever King of the Mountain match will take place at Slammiversary. Christian is defending his belt against four guys who win qualifiers leading up to the PPV. So far Abyss and Ron Killings have made it through (eliminating Rhino and Monty Brown respectively). Also Team U.S.A. won the World X Cup when Chris Sabin pinned Petey Williams to break the tie. Kevin Nash then destroyed the trophy and Sabin afterwards. Well I feel stupid for ever caring about the prestige of the World X Cup. Nash is hanging out with Shelley. In week two, Nash destroys Senshi after Senshi wins a four-way (way to castrate a newcomer guys).

It's Monday afternoon. Sacrifice is in the books and RAW is on tonight.
Decided not to get Sacrifice. Not enough on there to entice me to watch it live. Thought I'd read the reviews then decide whether to get it or not. As it turned out I'm probably not going to order the replay. The X Cup was the victim of a (semi-) screw job. U.S.A. and Canada tied and they are going to have a tie-breaker this coming iMPACT!. Sounded like the Sting/Joe/Jarrett/Steiner stuff turned out pretty good. Looking forward to seeing the show whenever it's released on DVD.
RAW tonight. It's Mick Foley's time to explain why he turned on Dreamer last week. Really looking foward to that. Read in the Wrestling Observer that it's going to be Dreamer/Funk vs. Foley/Dreamer at One Night Stand. It's November 2 Remember '95 all over again!

So the last episode of iMPACT! before Sacrifice is now in the books.
A decent offering. The verbal duel between 3-D and The James Gang was decent. Sabin downing Puma in the X Cup was good. It did seem restricted by time though. Abyss/Christian had a spirited little brawl to set up Full Metal Mayhem. And the six-man main event (Styles/Daniels/Rhino vs. AMW/Roode) offered up some good action.
The concluding part of "Deal or No Deal" was fairly well written. I don't think it played out as well as it was written though. So now we've got Sting/Joe vs. Jarrett/Steiner at the PPV. Although it's the furthest thing from a dream match, Steiner/Joe offers up an interesting dynamic. It'll be interesting to see how it pans out.
And what can I say about the second part of the Kevin Nash interview. It seems Big Kev is showing up at the PPV to make an example of the X-Division. He basically said he wants to rule TNA and the only way he can do that is to be the guy who wipes out the X wrestlers. So I'm expecting him to either disrupt the X Cup Gauntlet, or he's going to cost A.J./Daniels their tag team title match. I'd put my money on the latter.
BTW did anybody else realize that this was the 100th episode of iMPACT!? Obviously TNA didn't...

It's about mid-afternoon right now and I'm hitting all of my regular haunts on the World Wide Web.
Am I the last person to discover that Jim Cornette is headed to TNA? It's all over the TNA forums. Ah well.
I for one can't wait for Corny to show up. I take it he's replacing Larry Zbyszko as the D.O.A. I haven't seen any of his appearances in ROH but I hear he's the same James E. as he's ever been. I wonder if he'll let rip on WWE? Now that would make for great television. If I hear he's debuting on the PPV they can expect a buy from me (I'm one of those "I have to see the historic moments as they happen" fans). Can't wait to see you Jim, lets just leave that slapping of the talent up in Louisville (unless it's Kip James of course).

*takes a deep breath*
Is it just me or is it really hard to break into a new message board? I joined TNA's forums about six weeks ago and have posted around 20-30 posts under the ID of Arachnaman. So far I'm getting treated like crap on there!
Everyone hates a newbie! Nobody reads/listens to a thing I have to say. Is it the same for everyone or is it just me?
The main offenders are usually the moderators and the people who have posted 10,000 times. I'm sorry if I'm not a moderator. I'm sorry if I have a life and cannot find the time to post 10,000 times. Cut me some slack people. I have INTERESTING things to say just like the rest of you!!!
Thank you for letting me vent...

Am I the only one who is extrememly disappointed with the layout of this year's World X Cup? It's almost designed to fail. Dusty Rhodes could have booked this better. There are three rounds:
Rnd.1: 2 Tag team matches with 2 points for the winning teams (U.S.A. vs. Japan and Mexico vs. Canada).
Rnd.2: 2 Singles matches with 3 points for the winners (U.S.A. vs. Mexico and Canada vs. Japan)
Rnd.3: A 16-man Gauntlet with the winner scoring 5 points and the first runner up picking up 2.
When I first heard the news that the old Americas/World X Cup was being ressurrected I couldn't help but drool over the prospect. The original series from 2004 was (for the most part) great entertainment. But this version is lame-o. Where is the Ultimate X match? I'm among those wishing that they wouldn't use the Ultimate X match with such frequency, but doesn't the X Cup need it? And how on earth can you wrap-up a tournament with a 16-man Gauntlet? Shouldn't it finish with an explosion? Instead it's going to conclude with a fart.
The standings so far are:
Rnd.1: Alex Shelley/Sonjay Dutt (2) b. Minoru Tanaka/Hirooki Goto (o)
Rnd.1: Shocker/Magno (2) b. Johnny Devine/Eric Young (0)
Rnd.2: Chris Sabin (3) b. Puma (0) (airing on May 11 iMPACT!)
Rnd.2: Petey Williams vs. Jushin Liger is set for Sacrifice.
So as of right now we have 1. U.S.A. (5pts) 2. Mexico (2pts) 3. Canada/Japan (joint with 0pts with neither team having seen 2nd round action). Is it just me or is this tourney confusing? And the greatest tournaments are NOT confusing. The viewer wants to sit there and be entertained. It should not be about wrapping your brain around mathematical equations. TNA, if there is an X Cup in 2007 there needs to be a major overhaul in this format.

ECW reforms, week number two.
This week's Raw saw Mick Foley side with Edge to beat the hardcore out of Tommy Dreamer. "1995 called, they want their storyline back." No way. Tell 1995 to go screw themselves because we're keeping this one! It was the second awesome ECW angle in as many weeks. Looks like Cactus vs. Dreamer at the PPV. Next week is supposed to be Cactus' chance to explain his actions and I for one cannot wait. I hope they truly let Foley loose on the microphone.
In other ECW happenings, RVD and Cena had a staredown. RVD then cut a promo on Sports Entertainment and lambasted WWE for the way they handled the Joey Styles situation. He then cheerleaded the crowd in chanting "ECW" throughout his Fatal Four Way match.
For the first time in forever I'm actually excited about Raw. I'm writing this on Monday night and the next week cannot pass quickly enough for me!

Although word has been out on this for a while, I thought I'd take the time to comment on the proposed main event for One Night Stand 2.0 today.
Can't say I'm overjoyed at the prospect of RVD vs. Cena. When it originally broke that it might be RVD vs. Triple H, I wasn't the happiest grape in the bunch, but with a little time to digest it I thought it could work. Triple H, although he is like the anti-Christ among most "smart marks", could have had a decent ECW-lite match with RVD (remember, pull your kicks Robby Boy, even the long arm of The Game can reach over to ECW). And imagine the chants from the ECW faithful...
But RVD vs. Cena? That just isn't doing anything for me. The ECW RVD needed a landing pad for an opponent. Although most opponents of a lower caliber ended up looking good opposite RVD (Balls Mahoney etc.) those lower caliber opponents were always in the right place at the right time. Cena isn't exactly Johnny on the Spot when it comes to being in the right place at the right time. It doesn't seem like this is designed to be a great match (more of a War of the Worlds "Pro Wrestling vs. Sports Entertainment" type match), but in ECW it's was all about what happens between those ropes. It's being done at the expense of having a great match to cap off ONS.
In closing I'd like to give a quick shout out to my old Mark Out compadre, hb2k_buzzsaw. What's up biotch?!?!

So we can now add The Sandman, Francine, Danny Doring and Tony Mamaluke to the new ECW.
The Sandman had to be part of it. Don't know how much he has left but they couldn't restart ECW without him. Let's just hope that Uncle Vince splashes out on the "Enter Sandman" Metallica theme.
Never was a Francine fan. I was more of a Beulah fan. But she was an integral part of the original ECW. Lets just hope they can sign Justin Credible as well because I can't see any other use for her. On the subject of Credible, I hope they can also sign Steve Corino. The final scene of Guilty As Charged 2001 was Credible and Corino forming The New Impact Players. It'd be cool to see that storyline picked up from where it left off.
Danny Doring could be a good addition if they bring Roadkill over from OVW and reform their team. They were actually the final ECW tag team champions. Lets just hope they leave all the silly names for their moves in the old ECW.
Tony Mamaluke is most likely going to be reteamed with Nunzio/Guido as the old FBI. I always thought Mamluke was very underrated so it'll be interesting to see if he can make the most of this opportunity.
So thats nine signings. So far so good. Still waiting on Credible, Corino, Mikey Whipwreck, The Blue Meanie and a few others. It'll be interesting to if anybody jumps ship from TNA. Pretty good mix so far.

Decent/missable iMPACT! tonight. They set up an AMW vs. Styles/Daniels title match for Sacrifice. They had an AMW vs. Styles/Daniels match where Gail Kim interfered to screw A.J. and the Fallen Angel out of the win. The rematch sees Gail and Jackie banned from ringside.
The World X Cup continued with Team Mexico (Shocker & Magno) beating Team Canada (Johnny Devine & Eric Young) to score two points for their team. So-so action. This version of World X isn't exactly off to a flying start.
"Deal or No Deal" pt.2 saw Jarrett turn down another potential mystery partner for Sting at Sacrifice. Turned out that it could have been Rick Steiner. PHEW, that was close. It rolls over to next week where Sting himself will choose his partner.
In the big Kevin Nash interview Nash called the X-Division filler. Wonder where this one is leading? All I know is it seems crazy to be burying TNA's calling card in this manner.
In the main event Christian Cage beat Alex Shelley in a decent little match. After the match we were taken backstage where Father Mitchell and Abyss, in possession of Christian's title, challenged Christian to come and try to take back his title next week.

Sabu, Jazz, Axl Rotten, Balls Mahoney and C.W. Anderson.
Sabu still has his homicidal, suicidal, genocidal spirit about him (as witnessed in TNA) and I'm sure all he will have to do is break a few tables to keep the fans happy. Hope his arm heals up in time (damn you L.A. Park).
There's a big question mark hanging over Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney for me. I know some people think they were the epitome of ECW as the "Hardcore Chair Swingin' Freaks" but they never really did much for me. Balls was a good landing pad for Rob Van Dam though. Hopefully we might see something in that direction.
Sabu was pretty much a given as were Axl, Balls and C.W., but seeing Jazz signed up was a nice surprise. Been quite a while since we last saw her on a (sort of) national stage. Saw her on SunSport's "Women's Extreme Wrestling" a while back and she looked like she still has it.
I think C.W. Anderson will be a great addition to the project. I was really into his character during the "Death Watch" era of ECW and as far as I'm aware he can still go. I'd love to see a rehashing of the C.W./Dreamer feud. Wonder if they could get anything going in a C.W./Arn Anderson (WWE agent) direction...
Things are shaping up, only time will tell...

The old "Mark Out" website idea was for me to add my voice to the wrestling community (Which never quite panned out as I had envisioned). The last time I updated the old site was over four years ago, and as we all know a LOT has changed since then. Both in the wrestling product AND online technology.
Back then there was no "Brand Extensions", no TNA Wrestling, no ROH, and all Rob Feinstein was ever accused of was sending out orders late... Technology wise there was no MySpace, no blogs, and nothing resembling the video sharing technology that's available now.
So I have high hopes for this "Relaunch" (maybe I'll call it "Mark Out Reloaded" or "Mark Out V2"...) and I hope I can pick up a few new acquaintances along the way. Right now the plan is to give my views on TV shows that I watch, give my opinions on the latest going-ons, and see where this thing can go. However it turns it it's going to be interesting!
